Sonia Kruger has addressed mounting speculation about her television future after reports emerged suggesting she was exploring career opportunities overseas.

Speaking to Stellar magazine this week, the Channel Seven star admitted she would happily jump at the chance to work in Britain or the United States if the right opportunity came along.

'I think you'd be crazy not to,' the 60-year-old said when asked about reports she could be looking beyond Australia.

'There are a couple of projects I'd love to do in London and the States.'

Kruger went on to reveal she'd love to land a guest judging role on Strictly Come Dancing in the UK or its American counterpart.

'I'd love to do guest judging spots on Strictly Come Dancing in the UK or America, should it ever come up,' she said.

Sonia Kruger has addressed mounting speculation about her television future after reports emerged suggesting she was exploring career opportunities overseas

Speaking to Stellar magazine this week , the Channel Seven star admitted she would happily jump at the chance to work in Britain or the United States if the right opportunity came along

'The UK is probably more familiar because of Strictly Ballroom, although that was a big movie in America, too.'

She then joked that her iconic Strictly Ballroom character Tina Sparkle would be more than happy to make a comeback.

'If they ever wanted Tina Sparkle to turn up and be a guest judge on either of those, she'd be there,' she said.

'She'd totally turn up.'

Kruger's comments come after the television veteran was linked to overseas opportunities amid uncertainty surrounding Channel Seven's entertainment line-up.

As previously revealed by the Daily Mail, one of Australia's highest-paid television presenters had reportedly assembled a professional showreel aimed at broadcasters in the United States and the United Kingdom.

According to The Australian's Media Diary, the showreel was created as Kruger explored potential international opportunities while Seven continued reviewing its entertainment slate.

The publication also reported the network was yet to commit to another season of The Voice beyond this year, with executives said to be weighing the show's future amid its high production costs and expensive international licensing fees.

'I think you'd be crazy not to,' the 60-year-old said when asked about reports she could be looking beyond Australia

The uncertainty comes as Seven continues to reshape its entertainment offering after axing several reality franchises in recent years.

Holey Moley and The Voice: Generations each lasted just one season, while Big Brother, once fronted by Kruger, has since returned to its original home on Network 10.

Despite the industry speculation, Kruger's latest comments suggest she isn't planning to leave Australia behind altogether, but is instead open to expanding her career internationally should the right opportunity present itself.

The Gold Logie winner remains one of Seven's biggest stars, hosting flagship programs including The Voice and Dancing With the Stars.

Kruger first rose to fame playing Tina Sparkle in Baz Luhrmann's 1992 classic Strictly Ballroom, before joining Seven in 1997 and later becoming a household name across programs including Sunrise, Today Tonight and Dancing With the Stars.

After a stint at Channel Nine, where she hosted Big Brother and co-hosted Mornings alongside David Campbell, Kruger returned to Seven in 2019 in one of the biggest talent coups in Australian television.

She is understood to earn more than $1 million a year, making her one of Australia's highest-paid television personalities.
