Sunrise weatherman Sam Mac shares cheeky video after being accused of 'stealing' hospital baby blanket: 'I'll be lying low for a while'

Sam Mac has shared an amusing tongue-in-cheek clip after being accused of 'stealing' his newborn baby's blanket from the hospital maternity ward.

The Sunrise weatherman, who has developed a reputation for his cheeky nature, recently shared a clip in which he was seen walking his baby son Miles through the park, with the youngster sleeping in a stroller covered with a hospital blanket.

Several hospital employees took to the comments section to cheekily joke that Sam may not have had permission to take the blanket from the maternity ward.

'As a midwife all I saw in the video was the hospital blanket you stole LMAO,' one person quipped.

'Another midwife here. They stick out in the wild,' a second person wrote and a third chipped in with: 'Same!'

Sam recently responded to the criticisms by sharing an amusing follow-up clip on social media, in which he was seen reading through their comments with a worried expression on his face.

'S**t!' a worried-looking Sam said, as he put on sunglasses and a baseball cap as a disguise before going out in public, as he tried to hide in the bushes, joking he was now a 'thief'.

'Guess I'll be lying low for a little while. We genuinely had no idea and somehow we have four! But only three children. Do we covertly return them in the dark of night? Surely it's not just us,' Sam joked in the caption. 

Many of Sam's celebrity friends took to the comments section to offer their thoughts.

'I asked if I could take one and they said "as long as you’ve paid your taxes". So I took two,' revealed new mother Simone Holtznagel.

'Lol absolutely guilty AF. My mum still had mine from when I was a baby so I thought it was a keepsake thing,' added Steph Claire Smith. 

'I kind of likened it to helping myself to a hotel logo hand towel,' TV star Melissa Hoyer chipped in. 

In July, Sam added to his growing brood by welcoming baby number three with fiancée Rebecca James. 

The Channel Seven presenter took to Instagram to reveal the news alongside an image of the proud parents with their newest bundle of joy. 

In the picture, Sam and Rebecca looked pleased as they posed with their little man who is wrapped in a beige patterned blanket. 

'It’s a boy! Welcome to the world,' Sam wrote beside the image.

He then introduced his son as 'Miles Samuel McMillan' before thanking his ladylove.

'Bec was an absolute superstar. Again. She's recovering well. What a woman,' he added.

Sam announced the couple was expecting their third child earlier this year and shared a series of sweet images featuring his partner and the couple's two adorable daughters, Margot and Mabel.

Rebecca revealed her baby bump, which Sam kissed as he held a set of sonogram images.
