While she first built her expertise writing about video games, she has since pivoted towards gaming hardware, with a focus on PC components, peripherals, handhelds, and performance-driven tech. When she’s not testing gear or writing about the latest hardware trends, she can usually be found diving into competitive shooters or keeping up with the evolving esports scene.

The Stream Deck is a favorite among streamers, content creators, and power users, mostly because of its versatile controls and customizable shortcuts, but what if you could do the same with your mouse? Corsair has just announced the Nightsword V2 Wireless, which doubles as a Stream Deck companion, letting you access streaming controls and shortcuts right from your gaming mouse.

Priced at $129.99, the Nightsword V2 Wireless is built for convenience. Besides serving as a high-performance gaming mouse, users can pull up a virtual Stream Deck panel on their screens with the click of a button and access a variety of actions for any game or app. Whether it’s opening an in-game inventory, pulling up a map, switching scenes in streaming software like OBS, launching applications like Twitch, or triggering productivity shortcuts like Spotify, the mouse can handle almost anything you throw at it—as long as an Elgato can do it too.

Corsair’s latest mouse also comes with eight customizable buttons, all of which are fully expandable through the Elgato Marketplace, allowing users to configure plugins for every game, app, or creative tool they use. These buttons can be assigned to specific in-game actions, such as pulling out a weapon or activating a power, or used to launch productivity apps and control streaming software, much like they would with an Elgato device. So, you can effectively ditch your dedicated Stream Deck in favor of this highly functional and, of course, more space-efficient mouse.

The Nightsword V2 Wireless is also a testament to what Corsair has been doing since it acquired Elgato back in 2018. The hardware maker has, since then, steadily expanded the Stream Deck platform, taking it from dedicated desktop controllers to the wider range of gaming and creator products within its ecosystem. The Nightsword V2 Wireless’ integration with the Deck is perhaps the best example so far, which brings together Corsair’s gaming hardware expertise and Elgato’s software ecosystem to create a peripheral that caters to gamers and content creators alike.

The Nightsword V2 Wireless is one of Corsair’s best gaming mice so far

Leave aside the Stream Deck functionality, and the Nightsword V2 Wireless is still a premium mouse with features that would leave most competitive gamers starry-eyed. For starters, it comes with Corsair’s signature MARKSMAN S sensor, supporting up to 33,000 DPI and offering a whopping 99.7 percent resolution accuracy. It promises ultra-responsive wireless and wired performance with up to 8kHz hyper-polling and is equipped with fast, reliable optical switches designed to improve durability and longevity. The mouse supports connectivity across three modes: 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth, and wired.

One caveat, though, is its right-handed shape, which is going to keep most of the left-handed gamers away. It also weighs on the heavier end at 89 grams.

At $130, the mouse is pretty well-priced considering the unique Steam Deck integration. That said, Corsair has tapped into a hyper-competitive segment that already counts the likes of Logitech’s G502 X Lightspeed and G502 X Plus, Razer’s Viper V3 Pro and Logitech’s G PRO X Superlight 2. Those mice mostly compete on weight, ergonomics, battery life and gaming performance, but Corsair is trying to set itself apart with built-in Stream Deck integration.

This gives the Nightsword V2 Wireless an advantage for streamers, content creators, and productivity-focused users who want quick access to shortcuts, macros, and app controls without investing in a separate Stream Deck. So, Corsair’s latest may not be the most esports-centric mouse in its class, but it is definitely one of the more versatile.
