Bachelorette alum Joe Amabile, 40, is 'doing well' as he prepares for brain surgery after tumor diagnosis
Bachelor alum Joe Amabile is said to be faring well ahead of his scheduled brain surgery to remove a blueberry-sized tumor.
The 40-year-old television star revealed in early July that an MRI scan uncovered 'an early-stage brain tumor.'
Another Bachelor Nation personality, 32-year-old Dylan Barbour told Us Weekly that he 'just saw Joe in the Hamptons' and 'he's doing well.'
Barbour added about his friend, 'It’s good to see him. Good to spend time with him. I talk to him weekly.'
He noted, 'Surgery is coming up, but we’re praying for him. Obviously, my whole family is thinking about him.'
Reflecting on their close friendship, he shared: 'Joe’s the best. We spent summers together at our lake house. We went to the Hamptons. Him and [wife] Serena [Pitt] couldn’t be better people. I’m hoping for the best.'

Over two weeks ago, Amabile used Instagram to share details about his health with his nearly one million followers.
'I didn’t share my Prenuvo results because they ended up finding a lesion on my brain, so then I had to go get a brain MRI and there was a blueberry size lesion in my brain that looks to be a glioma, which is a tumor,' he said, referencing the full-body scan gaining popularity among celebrities and influencers.
He added, 'So I now need to get brain surgery to get it removed and get it tested, and then we’re gonna go from there. So it’s been a wild couple weeks. Definitely wasn’t expecting this.
'I think it’s one of those things where you’re like, "Oh, something like this [will] never happen to me," and here I am.'
Keeping a positive outlook, Amabile continued, 'They say it’s really early stages. I hope they are able to get it all, and I’m fine. But I will keep you updated.'
Barbour told Us Weekly that despite the health ordeal, his close buddy has maintained a normal routine.
'He’s healthy, working out, eating well,' he said.
While announcing the results of his body scan, the Not Married To This podcast co-host disclosed: 'I’m doing my best to stay positive during this time and am lucky to have a lot of support from family and friends.

In addition to his friend, Amabile has the support of his wife, whom he met on season 7 of Bachelor in Paradise
'I’ve gone back and forth about what I wanted to share on social media but ultimately this is now part of my life, so might as well. Onto a new journey.'
In addition to his friend, Amabile has the support of his wife, whom he met on season 7 of Bachelor in Paradise.
He and Pitt, 28, have been married since 2022, and last week the doting wife took to Instagram to ask followers for advice and tips.
She shared a video speaking directly to fans and wrote in the caption, 'It’s hard to believe we’re only about a week away from Joe’s surgery. I’m in full prep mode, trying to think of everything that might make his recovery as comfortable as possible and help us feel a little more prepared for the weeks ahead.
'If you’ve been through brain surgery yourself or cared for someone who has, I’d be so grateful for any recommendations, must-have recovery items, or things that made the recovery process a little easier.'
Amid her preparations, she said she's already purchased a shampoo and conditioner that's safe for her husband to use with his surgery wound, Tylenol, pajamas, and a pillow for the hospital.
