Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has earned its place as anime's biggest modern series. Created by artist Koyoharu Gotouge, the action shōnen kicked off with rave reviews, but Tanjiro only hit the big leagues once he made his way to television. Demon Slayer's hit anime turned the series into a juggernaut that has since smashed global box office records. These days, fans are all waiting for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Infinity Castle to make its way to shelves following its theatrical release in 2025, and a new report just confirmed the wait is almost over.

According to the official website, Demon Slayer will release a premium limited-edition Blu-ray of the film. The collector's item will include goodies like a storage box featuring a new illustration from Akihiro Matsushima, the character designer and chief animation director of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba — Infinity Castle. Pre-orders for the home release will begin in Japan on April 18, so fans are hopeful this overseas launch means good things are coming for fans globally.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Is Taking A Long Time To Hit Streaming

At this time, Demon Slayer hasn't made any announcements regarding its movie release in the United States or regions outside of Japan. This has left fans disappointed, but to be frank, the lack of updates is hardly a surprise. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Infinity Castle went live in July 2025 in Japan before moving to the United States. It has been nearly an entire year since the movie launched, making its lack of home availability unprecedented in today's digital age.

After all, streaming has streamlined the theatrical pipeline. After a movie hits theaters, it isn't unheard of for the movie to hit streaming services within a month. Anime projects tend to take longer when it comes to streaming releases, but platforms like Netflix and Crunchyroll usually get titles up within six months. Demon Slayer fans have been understandably upset about the streaming delay facing Infinity Castle, not to mention its physical release.

By the time Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Infinity Castle hits Blu-ray, a year will have passed since its premiere. This kind of wait is hard to explain, but for now, fans are just happy to have any sort of update. With a physical release looming, it is now more likely than ever that Demon Slayer is preparing to launch on streaming. The question is now when that date will be, especially as the countdown is on for Demon Slayer's next movie. The franchise has confirmed work is underway on the sequel to Infinity Castle, and with rumors pointing towards a 2027 release date, the streaming services have a lot to catch up on before the new movie drops.
