Disney tugs at heartstrings once more with a new Toy Story 5 clip.

DisneyStudioJ_A released a brand-new clip featuring Jessie and her original owner, Emily, on X. The short video showed a montage of the pair playing together before Emily abandons her when she goes to college, replaying the heartbreaking scene of her car driving away from Toy Story 2. While she was technically introduced in the franchise's second film, this is the first time her face has been shown, as the 1999 sequel only ever showed her from the shoulders down.

The upcoming film picks up where Toy Story 4 left off, following Woody's decision to remain with Bo Peep. Jessie takes charge of Bonnie's toys alongside Buzz, who is now eight years old. Unfortunately, Bonnie, like many children in 2026, has a tablet, which is taking her attention away from all her other toys. The group tries to adjust to the digital age, where technology and screen time have become the center of their owner's world.

Both Hanks and Allen are reprising their roles for Toy Story 5. The two actors have starred in all five movies in the franchise. Allen expressed his interest in a potential fifth installment of the massive Disney IP in 2019 before the upcoming film was confirmed in February 2023. Toy Story's original composer, Randy Newman, will also return for Toy Story 5.

Toy Story 5 will be released in theaters on June 19, 2026.
