Dragon Ball Super Beerus Could Get October Release Date, History Suggests

Dragon Ball is heading to New York City

Dragon Ball fans have been eating well this year. From the official reveal of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 at Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 to the announcement of Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol in January, there's been no shortage of exciting Dragon Ball projects in the works. Next up is Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, the fourth rendition of Beerus' introduction. It's currently slated for a fall 2026 premiere, and we may have just gotten our first hint as to when that premiere could take place.

On Friday, the official Dragon Ball site shared the news that Dragon Ball will once again be returning to New York Comic Con in October. This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who has attended NYCC as Dragon Ball always has quite a large booth right by the entrance full of merchandise and other surprises. At the front, a giant character always greets guests, like Orange Piccolo in 2023.

"The booth will be filled with tons of exhibits, featuring Dragon Ball games, figures, and even the new Dragon Ball Super: Beerus anime that's premiering this fall," the news post states. Saying the booth will feature the anime doesn't quite tell us what from Beerus will be shown off (New Beerus merch? Behind-the-scenes artwork?), but history tells us the anime's presence at NYCC indicates its premiere could be right around the corner.

That's what happened the last time Dragon Ball got a new anime. Dragon Ball Daima premiered in Japan on Oct. 11, 2024. Just a week later, it had a dedicated panel at New York Comic Con on Oct. 17 when Goku voice actor Stephanie Nadolny took the stage to discuss the series, Glorio's English voice actor Aaron Dismuke was revealed, and new Akira Toriyama concept art was shown off. The panel ended with a screening of the first Dragon Ball Daima episode.

If history repeats, we could be looking at a panel dedicated to Dragon Ball Super: Beerus right around its premiere. Toei Animation hasn't specified Beerus' premiere date outside that fall 2026 window, but, hey, October is firmly within it.

The panels for NYCC haven't been announced yet, but it's possible Dragon Ball will have one yet again. We'll have to wait and see if that panel will be a showcase for Dragon Ball Super: Beerus. At the very least, I bet the Dragon Ball booth's big inflatable mascot this year will be the God of Destruction Beerus.
