PlayStation Summer Sale best deals: Resident Evil Requiem, Saros, and more

I’ve combed through 150 pages of deals — many of which are populated by DLC for train simulators — to find the best discounts in this year’s PlayStation Summer Sale. From 2026’s most prestigious AAA game to a bizarre indie that deserves your attention, here are a handful of deals to keep in mind while browsing the PlayStation Summer Sale.

10 Saros: Digital Deluxe Edition — $59.99

Saros only launched in April, but you can already get it for a discount. Well, sort of. The game itself is still full price right now, but its Digital Deluxe Edition is down to $59.99, which is $10 less than the standard edition. That’s as good an incentive as any to try out Housemarque’s furious roguelike shooter. The special edition will just net you some extra armor. It’s not much, but a bonus is a bonus.

9 Resident Evil Requiem — $55.99

You probably don’t need another reason to pick up Resident Evil Requiem considering that it’s one of this year’s best games, but a sale can’t hurt. The survival horror game is currently 20% off, taking it down to $55.99. If that’s still a little much for you, the rest of the Resident Evil series is on sale too. Capcom’s excellent Resident Evil 2 remake is a standout deal at just $7.99.

8 Nioh 3 — $44.79

We’ve gotten so many strong games in 2026 so far that plenty have slipped under the radar. Nioh 3 is near the top of that list. The samurai Soulslike delivers the fierce boss battles you expect from the genre and an open-world that’s full of secrets. You can currently get it for $44.79, down from $69.99, making it one of the sale’s best deals when it comes to 2026 AAA releases.

7 Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter — $29.99

If you’re an RPG fan who has never tried the Legend of Heroes series, this deal is for you. Last year’s excellent Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, a remake of The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, is a great starting point if you’re looking to delve into a dense series. The sale timing couldn’t be better considering that Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter is set to launch this September. You'd better catch up now for $29.99 if you don’t want to be two games behind.

6 Marathon — $27.99

You’ve debated about it online; now it’s time to actually play Marathon. Bungie’s extraction shooter is excellent when you aren’t obsessing over its player count. It features the slick shooting Bungie is known for, engrossing worldbuilding, and some of the best visual design to ever grace a big-budget shooter. You can check it out for yourself and see what the fuss is about for $27.99.

5 A Plague Tale: Requiem — $17.99

This August, the Plague Tale series is returning with Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy. Before that drops, it’s a great time to revisit the previous game in the series, 2022 Game of the Year nominee A Plague Tale: Requiem. The stealth game impressed at release with its cinematic storytelling and gorgeous visuals. Resonance will build on those strengths, but in a very different breed of action game. Get caught up in time for that pivot for $17.99.

4 Star Wars Jedi: Survivor — $10.49

My favorite summer deals are the ones that look like a mistake. That’s the case for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which is on sale for just $10.49. That’s a small price to pay for an excellent action-adventure sequel that captures the thrill of lightsaber dueling (and features some of the best 3D Metroidvania-ing around). Star Wars fans are about to have a busy year with both Star Wars: Zero Company and Star Wars Galactic Racer, so think of Survivor as a head start.

3 The Alters — $17.49

The best time to play The Alters was last year when it first came out. The second-best time is now. 11 Bit Studios’ base management sim, which centers around a man trying to survive on a hostile exoplanet alongside a small group of his clones, just got a new expansion called Last Variable. With the base game down to $17.49, it’s a good time to dip in and see if you like it enough to try out the DLC. I can, at the very least, promise that it will be an interesting experience.

2 Baby Steps — $11.99

If it’s a hidden gem you’re after, I can’t recommend Baby Steps in a vacuum. The open-world walking simulator from the minds behind Ape Out is a riotously funny work of slapstick comedy that will also emotionally destroy you when you’re not expecting it. It was my favorite game of 2025 without question, and it even landed in Polygon’s own top 10. While its intentionally frustrating walking mechanics make it tough to confidently recommend, $11.99 is low enough that I can say that you’ll get enough laughs out of it to get your money’s worth.

1 Control: Ultimate Edition — $5.99

Remedy Entertainment is returning to the world of Control this September with Control Resonant. The action game looks like a huge departure for the series, trading in third-person shooting for Devil May Cry-style slashing. If you want to get up to speed with the series quickly, you can get Control for just $5.99 during Sony’s sale. It’s worth every penny, as the strange sci-fi game remains one of Remedy’s best works.
