Salesforce Expands Education Funding Before Dreamforce

Salesforce will direct $18 million of the new grants to public school districts in five major US cities. The funding will support schools in San Francisco, Oakland, New York City, Chicago, and Indianapolis. Salesforce said the grants will focus on STEM education, career readiness, teacher development, and technology training.

The company announced the funding before its annual Dreamforce conference, a major event for customers and business partners. Salesforce also expanded its Adopt-a-School program across more than 25 public schools nationwide. Around 100 students will attend Dreamforce for mentoring sessions, workshops, and direct exposure to technology careers.

Salesforce has supported public schools for 14 years and has steadily expanded its education commitments. The company has contributed more than $180 million to public schools across the United States. That total includes about $156 million directed to public schools across the Bay Area.

Education Programs Show Measurable Results

Salesforce-backed programs have supported stronger math performance and broader computer science access in Bay Area schools. Oakland schools reported an eight-point rise in standardized math scores through supported teacher coaching programs. San Francisco middle schools also recorded nearly 8% higher math proficiency since 2022.

The company has also funded leadership programs designed to improve school management and teacher support. Its Principal Innovation Fund gives school leaders flexible funding for coaching, professional development, and academic intervention. Salesforce reported that 95% of participating principals saw stronger satisfaction and improved retention in leadership roles.

Other grants will support teacher training and career programs through several nonprofit organizations. Salesforce will provide $9 million to groups focused on professional development and student career opportunities. Those organizations will support instructional coaching, technology skills, mentoring, and practical pathways into future employment.

Salesforce Broadens Long-Term Community Spending

Salesforce has tied its education work to its long-running 1-1-1 corporate giving model. The model commits 1% of company equity, technology, and employee time toward social and community programs. Since its founding, Salesforce has provided $970 million in grants and nearly 11 million employee volunteer hours.

The company has also invested heavily in Bay Area schools, hospitals, and public safety programs. Salesforce and Marc and Lynne Benioff have contributed more than $1 billion across the region. Salesforce has also directed more than $13 million toward public safety programs in San Francisco.

Meanwhile, Salesforce has extended its community support through major healthcare contributions in the Bay Area. A $100 million Benioff donation announced in 2025 supports hospital development and renovations in Oakland. Dreamfest has also raised more than $130 million for UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals since 2010.

The new education funding adds another major community initiative as Salesforce prepares for Dreamforce. CRM stock traded above its previous close following the announcement during Monday’s pre-market session. However, the grant program does not directly change Salesforce’s revenue outlook or near-term operating targets.
