How Rosie O’Donnell, Trisha Paytas & More Are Celebrating Pride Month
‘Hocus Pocus’ Actress Thora Birch Comes Out as Bisexual
As Lin-Manuel Miranda said, “Love is love is love is love is love."
And as Pride Month began June 1, celebrities celebrated all types of love by sharing heartfelt messages of support for the LGBTQ+ community and showing up at events across the country.
For her part, Rosie O’Donnell acknowledged the LGBTQ+ trailblazers that gave her the confidence to come out as a lesbian in the early aughts.
“Everyone who came out before I did, before I was brave enough, I admire them and they gave me the strength and courage to be myself,” she told People at the 2026 Tony Awards June 7. “I hope I can do that for young people everywhere and teach everyone that there’s nothing to be afraid of and we exist in every animal kingdom.”
Rosie emphasized, “Gay is OK no matter what they say.”
Trisha Paytas also celebrated her own queer identity with a photo shoot while posing in a rainbow-filled outfit.
“It’s that time of year!!!!!!! HAPPY PRIDE,” she wrote on Instagram. “We’re here and we’re queer.”
Allies of the LGBTQ+ community also offered their words of support. Indeed, Jennifer Lopez kicked off the month by wishing her fans a happy Pride month and sharing a unique way to celebrate.
“Let's be honest, you deserve all 12 months of the year, so make sure this one is extra, extra special,” she said on Instagram June 1. “In fact, you officially have permission to skip work. Just tell your boss Jennifer Lopez said it was okay. I am sure they'll understand.”
The 56-year-old added, “In all seriousness, I hope all of your months are filled with love, laughter, joy, and chosen family. And if you're not out yet, that's okay. We're here, and we're waiting for you whenever you're ready.”
Meanwhile, fellow pop icon Mariah Carey shared a throwback photo on Instagram with the caption, “Happy Pride to my Lambs!!!”
Plus, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Lisa Rinna shared a video of herself dancing to Hacks star Meg Stalter’s new comedic song “GAY,” which contains the lyrics, “I love gay, I love gay / Everything we do is slay.”

After seeing the video, Meg chimed in in the comments section, writing, “I LOVE GAY AND I LOVE LISA.”
Of course, June also has some star-studded events lined up throughout the month.
The Pussycat Dolls reunited June 6 for the annual OUTLOUD Music Festival as part of WeHo Pride, with Ava Max and Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall, who headlined the event on June 5 and 7, respectively. Plus, Ashlee Simpson, Blue Man Group and Spice Girls' Melanie C took the stage, too.
Ahead of her show-stopping performance, Jade expressed her excitement over getting to headline her first festival and honor the LGBTQ+ community.
"It means so much to me to give back, to always stand up and stand by and speak up for the community," the singer shared in a May 15 Instagram video. "It is an honor to come to LA to perform for you guys.”

And while many stars are celebrating Pride Month by attending events, others proved their pride exists year-round.
Take, for example, Hocus Pocus alum Thora Birch, who came out publicly as bisexual last month while sharing how the community has made a significant impact on her life.
"As a hometown girl, I’m always here to show my support for the community," she told Us Weekly at The Abbey’s 35th Anniversary in West Hollywood May 20, "which shaped so much of who I am and my identity as well, being a bi person.”
